Social media graphics for Louth tourist sites
Local Councilor John Sheridan praised Louth County Council’s commitment to creating Social Media Graphics (GIF) to boost tourism in Louth.
Cllr Sheridan pushed through a motion at the November Council meeting asking the local authority and Fáilte Ireland to fund the design of social media graphics called GIFs for tourist areas in Louth.
“It’s something I wanted to do since the summer.
âWhen in other countries, I noticed that you can register on Instagram and Facebook and many cities have localized graphics. It helps branding those cities.
âI researched this with a local designer and it would be relatively inexpensive to do a 10-15 graphics suite for Louth.
“I think the Council could take the lead on this.
Cllr Sheridan continued, âI have tabled this motion in Council and I was delighted that Council wanted to pursue the proposal.
“The Council will now contact Fáilte Ireland regarding the initiative.
âThis will hopefully mean that when people are in Louth they can post a localized image that adds an extra layer to the county’s branding. This could be for example a design of Viking and a fish for Annagassan. , or Ferdia to Ardee, etc. ”
âWe have to make sure Louth is marketed at all levels.
âThe recent radio announcements for visitlouth.ie and sealouth.ie are excellent.
“If we create these GIFs, we can ensure that nothing is left to chance in Louth’s branding across generations across all platforms.”
