Slow-motion video of Tae Crowder banging Derrick Henry is spectacular

Lost in all the madness the New York Giants win over the Tennessee Titans has got to be one of linebacker Tae Crowder’s first plays of the season. Called upon to step up his game following the exit of Blake Martinez, Crowder stepped up and he unleashed a hit that will be watched countless times.

Oh, and the shot fell on one of the game’s most feared players, Derrick Henry. With his enormous size, Henry is used to shoving his way through potential tacklers. Not against Crowder, though. The NY backer absolutely leveled Henry during a play on Sunday and the slow motion video of things is amazing to watch.

NY Giants LB Tae Crowder delivered a vicious blow to Derrick Henry

Have we ever seen Henry fly like this before in his career? No chance. It’s quite Crowder’s game and it also puts an exclamation mark on the great defense game as a whole from Sunday. Wink Martindale’s defense kept the Giants in this one and helped put the team in position to steal the win late.

Henry is indeed one of the most electric players in the game, but the Giants have managed to slow him down quite impressively. That day, Henry finished with 21 carries for 82 yards, averaging 3.9 yards per carry. Keeping him under four yards per touch isn’t easy to do, but the Giants pulled it off.

With the Titans holding a 13-0 halftime lead, just about everyone thought Tennessee would come away with an easy win over Brian Daboll and Co. Instead, the NFC East side showed a incredible fight in the second half and they were able to claim his first season-opening victory since 2016 – when Ben McAdoo was head coach.

Times are changing for the Giants and Crowder’s play certainly sent a message to the rest of the league. This team is serious and thanks to a favorable schedule – with the Panthers, Cowboys and Bears traveling to MetLife over the next three weeks – there’s a good chance this unit could start the campaign 4-0.
