Slow motion video recording on smartphones is not a revolutionary addition to the camera arsenal. 4K video recording at 60 frames per second is certainly a leap forward, but so too is the possibility of Super Slow Motion video recording. Being able to record footage at incredibly high frame rates is only present on high-end devices and, according to a video leak, the Huawei P20 may have it.

A tweet from Ricciolo1 teased the super slow-mo mode and the three main camera modules present on at least one of the phones in the upcoming Huawei P20 line. Rumors were already circulating that the upcoming Huawei P20 will have a triple camera setup, but the possibility of super slow-mo is something new.

The Huawei P20 series will consist of three models:

Needless to say, the P20 Pro will be the best of the three devices in terms of components and performance. According to the leaked specs, the three models will have different camera setups, with the P20 Pro expected to be equipped with three main rear cameras. The other two models are expected to be equipped with a dual camera setup.

The P20 will have a 20 MP main camera with another 12 MP sensor and a dual LED flash. The Huawei P20 Lite is expected to come with a 16 MP primary camera along with a 2 MP secondary camera. The most interesting of all the devices in the line is the Huawei P20 Pro, which will have three cameras.

The setup will include a 20 MP main unit with two 12 MP cameras paired with a dual LED flash. All models will be capable of phase detection autofocus and HDR, with the P20 and P20 Pro also offering laser autofocus, thanks to advanced optics.

The phone appears to be following in the footsteps of Samsung and Sony by introducing Super Slow Motion mode. However, the benefit will certainly not be cheap. According to previous leaks, the P20 Pro will be offered at an insanely high price of 899 euros, but it could be the first smartphone to feature three shooters housed in the back.
