Cartoonist Kajo Baldisimo, co-creator of Trese, teams up with Luis Buenaventura, one of the first NFT artists from the Philippines, for a new series of NFT collectibles dubbed “Trese x Cryptopop”.

The series will launch at auction on January 25 at 12:00 p.m. Philippine time. Auctions will be open for only 72 hours, ending January 28 at 12:00 p.m.

The series will hit on Opensea, the largest online marketplace for NFT art. The coins will be sold in exchange for ETH (Ethereum), the de facto cryptocurrency for NFT art.

For the next step in the “Trese x Cryptopop” series, Baldissimo and Buenaventura have collaborated on three unique animated paintings featuring characters from the Trese universe: Alexandra Trese, the Kambal and the Tikbalang.

The musical soundscape for each piece was created by guitarist and designer Marco Palinar. The genesis coin, “Alexandra,” will be auctioned in a single edition, with bidding set to start at 2,666 ETH. “Kambal” and “Tikbalang” anime paintings will have 13 editions, with each edition priced at 0.666 ETH.

Alexandra, Kambal, and Tikbalang are the first three collectibles in the limited series that Baldisimo and Buenaventura will collaborate on in 2022. There will be a total of 13 unique collectibles in the series.

“I have always been a fan of the work of Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo, and it was amazing to see the Trese series grow in popularity over the past year. Like the comics that inspired it, this NFT collection is our way to share Filipino mythology with the rest of the world,” Buenaventura said.

“I’m so excited to share my first foray into the world of NFTs and digital collectibles. It was great working with Luis to create these pieces that speak to Trese fans around the world,” Baldisimo said. We can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve come up with.”
