GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4080 Aorus Xtreme Waterforce and AERO graphics card shown

New RTX 4080 designs

Gigabyte is preparing two more cards based on the RTX 4080 SKU.

Following our report on RTX 4080 EAGLE. We now have two more models that have not been seen before. Discover AORUS Xtreme WaterForce WB and the brand new series called AERO with a white color scheme.

The AORUS Xtreme WF WB board is a completely new design, equipped with a pre-installed water block. This card is actually the first RTX 40 model with this type of liquid cooling. According to leaks, Gigabyte will also introduce the WF WB model in the RTX 4090 SKU, but why the RTX 4080 is becoming a priority here – we don’t know. What is certain, this board is likely to share the PCB design with Xtreme Waterforce (the one with an All-In-One cooler), but the latter has not been photographed yet.

This RTX 4080 features a standard display output configuration with dual-slot I/O support. It also comes with a 16-pin power connector, so in that sense there’s nothing “extreme” about this model.

We also have a first look at Gigabyte’s new series called AERO. This name should remind fans of Gigabyte, as the company already offers a series of AERO laptops for content creators. The launch of this model probably means the end of the Vision series. The name is also borrowed from MSI, which had its “Aero” cards with cheap fan-type coolers.

The AERO RTX 4080 is a chunky 3.5-slot design, just like any air-cooled 40 Gigabyte RTX launched so far. This is actually a fifth model with three fans and there is still no sign of a dual fan model. However, what’s probably happening here is that Gigabyte is making a cooler for the RTX 4090 and 4080 16GB cards, so maybe expect RTX 4090 AERO later.
