Animation Masters Summit 2022 (Digital Edition) Concludes Spreading the Message of “Creativity for Good”
Animation Masters Summit (AMS) 2022, the five-day virtual summit hosted by Toonz Media Group, wrapped up on Friday. Under the theme “Creativity for Good”, this year’s summit hosted various panel discussions, masterclasses by a galaxy of stalwarts from various fields of media and entertainment across the globe.
The digital edition of AMS kicked off on May 23, honoring artist, writer, and activist Aabid Surti with the Legend of Indian Animation award, and presented Technicolor Creative Studios Country Director Biren Ghose with the special contribution to the Indian animation industry. P. Jayakumar, CEO of Toonz Media Group, Sanjay Gupta, Country Director and VP of Google India, Ashish Kulkarni, President of FICCI AVGC and Founder of Punnaryug Artvision, and Anish Narayanan Kutty, Director of AMS Festival, were present at the inaugural session.
The second day of the summit witnessed an insightful panel discussion titled Creativity for Good, the panel included animated filmmaker Kireet Khurana and President of Chocolate Moose Media Firdaus Kharas and moderated by Ghose. The session discussed the challenges, opportunities and overwhelming experience of using animation as a medium to highlight social causes. Followed by a super engaging session on advertising by Ogilvy India CCO Sukesh Nayak. He shared stories and anecdotes about the successful campaigns he led and shared advertising tips and tricks with attendees.
On day three, Emmy Award-winning composer Wendell Hanes led a masterclass on how to compose songs and music for animated titles and discussed various key points to keep in mind when writing. creating music. Followed by an international roundtable on creating joy for children through animation, the roundtable included the likes of Ron Gell, Rich Magallanes and Bruno Zarka. The panelists shared their experiences and anecdotes, emphasizing the importance of creativity and responsibility when creating children’s content.
On day four, Belgian animation director-producer Paul Demeyer introduced participants to his career, which spans more than five decades. Paul shared glimpses of his work ranging from commercials, movies, series, graphic novels, and even letters to loved ones filled with adorable doodles.
The creator of the very first Sanskrit animated feature film punyakoti Ravishankar Venkateswaran introduced the making of his film, he took the audience through the wonderful journey of producing this iconic film. punyakoti was a fully funded, crowd-funded film.
A week-long virtual summit concluded with an empowering masterclass session by GaurdianLink CTO Arjun Reddy, explored the latest growing NFT market, he explained how NFT is growing rapidly and how it helps community development creative artistic.
